“I like that I am at an institution that emphasizes social justice, social responsibility, and environmental activism. I am glad and proud to be at an institution that wants to ‘fight the good fight.’”

Phil Zuckerman

Professor of Sociology and Secular Studies

5 Core Values

At Pitzer, you’ll learn the Core Values by putting them into action, here on campus and out in the world.

“I was born and raised in the Philippines and I came here when I was 10 years old. Coming from a different background and being in this new atmosphere and new environment is very different for me. … I’ve absolutely loved learning about different cultures and different peoples and traditions, and I’d love to continue doing so.”

“We were able to have a larger fishbowl conversation with a number of different first-generation students, and it was a chance for faculty and staff to come in and really hear about our experience and to hear our challenges. ... There always is a door open for students to take some kind of initiative.”
